This scene features a autumn scene from Donner Lake.
Donner Lake, located in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, is named after the ill-fated Donner Party, a group of American pioneers who became trapped in the mountain pass in 1846 during an especially harsh winter. Only 45 of the 91 original members survived after resorting to cannibalism.
